Our Girls

We strive to maintain a harmonious herd of does that have correct conformation, nice width of rump, and amazing udders behind them.  Beyond that, we seek does that have proven themselves to be great dams both in personality and udder capacity to raise their own litters. Personality is the keystone to the harmony in our herd and all of our does are very social, friendly and sweet-they have done a great job passing along these traits to their kids.​

We are very excited to have Greta here on our farm.  She has an overall amazing mammary and one of the nicest foreudder attachments I have seen on a Nigerian. Greta also has an incredible will to milk and is notoriously difficult to dry off. All of this coupled with her sweet personality make her a great addition.  Greta more than surpassed the requirements in all 3 components to earn her AR milk star in 2020 (we are still waiting to for ADGA to enter Greta's milk test data into their new system, but have been assured it will be done as soon as they are able. Dry sheet copies can be provided.), despite starting milk test late in lactation and once a day milking up until the last 2 months of test.

We feel very fortunate to have been trusted with sweet Dot and are thankful to Sans Gene Farm for allowing her to come live on our farm. Dot is an outstanding brood doe that consistently out produces herself.  She has the "E" rump that we are so fond of!  Dot was on her way to earning her milk star in 2020, unfortunately she dried up during the horrific wildfires late that summer.  We plan to get her back on test in 2022.

Moonie freshened beautifully in 2020 with high capacity and will to milk.  She easily met requirements in all 3 components for her AR milk star with milk test that started late in lactation and once a day milking up until the last 2 months of test.  Her second freshening did not disappoint!  This doe can milk and milk, she has dam raised quads every year without issue.

Emmie is easily one of the favorites.  She has such a sweet and quiet demeanor.  Her all around mammary shape, teat size and placement are just gorgeous. I never seem to get great mammary photos of her, but plan to do so next year as she will be on milk test.  This is one of those does where I cannot resist retaining daughters from her every year.  I am hoping she will have some doelings I can share in 2022.

Fiver is another favorite here on the farm.  She was by far the easiest FF I have ever had step hoof on the milk stand, no fuss at all from day 1.  Fiver's udder is beautiful with butter soft texture, perfect teat size and placement, and great capacity.  Fiver easily met her butterfat and protein requirements for her AR star as a FF, but fell short of weight by 9 pounds!  She achieved this with milk testing that began very late in lactation and with once a day milking up until the last 2 months of test.  Fiver had quintuplets this year and insisted on dam raising them all, which is amazing.  She held strong raising 5 fat, healthy kids.  I did not get udder pics as we let her dry up as the kids were weaned.

When I first started getting serious about breeding Nigerians I was always drawn to Old Mountain Farm Peris.  Never in a million years would I have thought I would be able to have any kids from her, so you can imagine the excitement when we were notified by Jennifer and Mark Weir at Agape's Prize that there was a doeling for us!!  Pippa is not only gorgeous to look at, but her FF mammary was everything I wanted it to be: butter soft, nice teats to hand milk, strong medial and overall attachments.  Pippa is also a extremely friendly, greeting anyone she sees with her screechy voice and walking up for pets.

There is so much to love about Peach beyond her star-studded pedigree. She is easily one of the most friendly goats we have and the one that farm visitors always remember.  Despite her fair complexion, Peach loves laying in the sun more than any other goat we have.  She is an excellent mother and is very quiet and sweet.  I am excited to see how she does on milk test in 2022.
